JP Yorro

JP Yorro is a Vice President with The Energy & Minerals Group (EMG), a private investment firm targeting equity investments in the energy and minerals sectors. JP works closely with existing portfolio company management teams and is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, executing and monitoring EMG investments.

Previous Experience

Prior to joining EMG, JP worked as an investment banking Associate on Wells Fargo Securities’ E&P coverage team—providing capital markets and M&A advisory services. He also worked as a Consultant on Wood Mackenzie’s Gas & Power team focused on South America—delivering tailored, strategic consultancy to both private and public sector clients.

As an Intelligence Officer (HUMINT operations) from 2002 to 2008, JP established and managed intelligence programs to address strategic national security objectives in Africa, Eastern Europe and South Asia. While seconded to USSOCOM for much of this time, JP served as an embedded team member to advise, assist and enable tier one special mission units. His intelligence service decorations include the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award—awarded by LTG Stanley McChrystal, the Department of the Army Commander’s Award and two Defense Intelligence Agency Civilian Expeditionary Medals.

JP earned dual MBA / Master of International Affairs degrees with a focus on finance and energy management and policy from Columbia University. He also holds a BA in International Studies from Boston College, where he graduated summa cum laude.
