After serving 23 years in the United States Navy, I thought I was prepared for just about anything.What I didn’t fully anticipate was how intimidating the transition from military service to the civilian workforce would feel. For more than two decades, the Navy gave me structure, purpose, and a clear path forward. Stepping away from that world meant starting over learning a new language, a new system, and a new way of defining my value.
Like many service members approaching retirement, I carried a lot of anxiety into that transition. The biggest question weighing on me was simple but heavy: How am I going to support my family after the Navy? I knew I had experience, leadership, and technical skills, but translating those into something the civilian workforce could recognize felt overwhelming.
That’s when I connected with NextOp, and everything changed.

Looking back, I can confidently say that NextOp played a critical role in making my transition smooth and sustainable. They helped me move forward with clarity, confidence, and peace of mind, especially knowing my family would be supported in the next chapter of my life.
