Pathways to Employment in Louisiana

NextOp, in partnership with GNO Inc., was selected for the Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Grant in 2020. This Department of Labor grant administered by the Delta Regional Authority, serves transitioning service members and veterans in 9 parishes in Southeast Louisiana. The purpose of the grant is to grow and expand opportunities in rural communities by providing the necessary resources and training to create a more prosperous future.

Through this 3-year grant, NextOp is creating direct training-to-employer pathways for veterans and military talent. These pathways are established with regional training providers in targeted, growth oriented industries and career fields. The industries and training pathways have been strategically selected to maximize veterans’ transferable skills and experiences and are based on ability to withstand economic disruptions. The program then facilitates pipelines into career placements once candidates complete training in the selected programs.

The training-to-career pathways are based on verified demand derived from both data, industry/employer feedback, and hiring projections, in partnership with Greater New Orleans Development Foundation.
